Bio:

R. Charli Carpenter is Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, and a faculty affiliate of the University of Pittsburgh's Ford Institute of Human Security. She has published extensively on gender, humanitarian action and transnational advocacy networks, and is the author of Innocent Women and Children : Gender, Norms and the Protection of Civilians. Professor Carpenter teaches courses on human rights and humanitarian law, and is currently writing a book on the children s human rights regime.
